Indentification
Honey Bee: 15mm, golden-amber with dark banding, hairy body. Bumble Bee: larger (20–25mm), very hairy, black and yellow banding. Both have a distinctive narrow waist and carry pollen baskets.

However, when a colony establishes itself inside a wall cavity, soffit, or roof space, it creates a genuine safety risk — particularly for individuals with bee sting allergies — and the honeycomb, if left untreated, can cause significant structural damage from wax melt and honey leakage. Humane removal and relocation is always our preferred approach.
Killing a honey bee colony inside a wall without removing the comb is a serious mistake. Melting honeycomb and fermented honey can cause thousands of dollars in damage and attract secondary pests including wax moths, ants, and rodents. Always remove the comb.
